The fifth annual Cut-a-thon in aid of breast cancer awareness collected more than CI$1,000 in just three hours on Sunday.
As in the past, volunteers from several of the islands’ salons and spas offered services such as wet cuts, mini manicures, and dollar-a-minute massages to the public at a reduced rate. The $1,069 raised is to be donated to the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.
This year’s event took place at Eclipze Salon and Day Spa (which organised the event) located at Alexander Place, Industrial Park from 3-6pm.
The event saw a host of beauticians, stylists and nail technicians from different salons and spas around the island give up their Sunday afternoon to the worthy cause.
Participating salons and their employees were:
Artisa (Chris Morgan, Jose Zapata); Body Works (Azra Hall, Jill Palmer, Marcia Haye-Clarke, Sarah Ferguson); Eclipze (Sissy Weber-Thorpe, Kay Furbert, Kari Larkin, Tricia Coolman-Ali, Teresa Dempster-Smith); Focus (Kelly Coates, Suzette Green); Today’s Image (Debbie Thompson); Sameena’s (Chris Flores, Naerton Flores); Renaissance (Bridgette Telfer, Lindsay Reagh, Richard Espanola, Frodrick Calatien).
