The Cayman Islands Investment Bureau invites local investors to a meeting on today to finalize the structure of the newly formed angel investor network for the Cayman Islands.
Open to all local business people and community leaders who are interested in investing in and mentoring small business, the meeting will start at 5.30pm in the Investment Bureau’s offices at the Cayman Corporate Centre.
An angel investor network is an organization of established businesspeople that mentor and provide venture capital to small local businesses or start-ups. Angel investors are typically business people who are keen to facilitate the development of small businesses and strongly want to foster the entrepreneurial spirit which will inevitably benefit the local economy.
‘Through our past workshops and communication with local entrepreneurs, we have certainly seen that many business opportunities exist in Cayman, and that there are entrepreneurs out there who are willing to put time and effort into pursuing their dreams,’ commented CIIB Executive Director, Dax Basdeo. ‘The angel investor network provides an excellent avenue for bringing some of these ventures into existence, and we certainly have several business-savvy investors who are willing to assist the start-up and growth of new businesses.’
Any entrepreneur who is interested in raising funding through the angel investor network is asked to submit an application through the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau.
