Shaune Fraser has had a big week.
First he won the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events at the Florida State High School Championship Meet in Ft. Lauderdale last weekend. His times were both the second-fastest in the state history. His time in the 200 yard was 1:36:33 and 4:24:42 in the 500 yard. Fraser was also part of the Bolles state record-setting 200 freestyle relay squad.
Then, the Caymanian Olympian signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Florida on Tuesday. Fraser competed for the Cayman Islands at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and finished third in his opening heat of the 200 free.
He will attend the University of Florida upon graduating from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida.
‘Shaune is one of the best swimmers in the county,’ said Florida head coach Gregg Troy.
