Keswick convention starts Sunday

Crawford Loritts Jr. featured speaker

The ever popular inter-church Keswick Convention gets under way this weekend.

The convention runs 15-20 January.

This year’s speaker is Crawford Loritts Jr. who is no stranger to Cayman, having most recently visited the Island with his wife Karen for a family life conference early in 2005. Crawford was recently appointed as Senior Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church in Rosewell, Georgia, after more than 25 years on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Crawford is a US-based Christian speaker of international renown and is in demand at evangelistic outreaches, conferences, conventions, churches, colleges and seminaries. His speaking ministry has taken him across the US, to Canada, the Caribbean (including Cayman), Europe, Africa and the Far East.

He is a frequent speaker for professional sports teams, including appearances at three Super Bowls and the NCAA Final Four Chapel. He has also spoken to gatherings of senior military officers at the Pentagon. He is a featured speaker at Promise Keepers men’s conferences, addressing more than 1.5 million men at these events. He is a frequent speaker for Moody Bible Institute’s Founder’s Week and Pastors Conferences.

Crawford and his wife, Karen, are also featured speakers at Family Life’s marriage and parenting conferences and ‘Rekindling the Romance’, one-day arena events for couples. Crawford is the host of ‘Living A Legacy’, a daily radio program heard on 330 outlets by approximately 500,000 per week, and is frequently interviewed on radio and television. The ‘Living a Legacy’ ministry is available online at http://www.livingalegacy.org.

Crawford has written six books including Lessons from a Life Coach and Never Walk Away. His most recent book is For a Time We Cannot See: Living Today in Light of Heaven. All are widely available including through Amazon and a number will be on sale at the Convention.

The Cayman Keswick conventions started in 1974 and have been held each year since, meeting in different churches. This year the host church for the evening services, which begin each night, Sunday to Friday at 7.30pm, is Agape Family Worship Centre. Lunch time meetings will again be in the Elmslie Memorial Church Hall, starting on Monday. A light lunch will be available from noon, and Crawford will speak between 12.20pm and 12.50pm

For those who can not make it to the meetings, the evening services will be broadcast live on Radio Cayman. The lunch time messages can also be heard live on Gospel 88.7 at 12.20pm each afternoon.

The aim of Keswick Week is to provide opportunities for members of the islands’ churches and others to come together and to hear an excellent, dynamic speaker with a special gift in explaining the Christian faith.

All are welcome.
