GEORGETOWN, Guyana – A political activist whose TV talk show was canceled after he allegedly urged viewers to support armed gangs in a troubled village of this South American nation has been shot to death.
Ronald Waddell of the main opposition People’s National Congress was shot repeatedly by gunmen on Monday in front of his seaside home outside the capital of Georgetown, police said.
Authorities made no arrests in what opposition leaders said was a politically motivated attack.
