Mardi Gras set to rock Kaibo

A blockbuster line-up of entertainment acts will feature at this year’s Mardi Gras festivities, to be held from midday at Kaibo this Wednesday.

With six years of Mardi Gras experience behind them, event organizers at Kaibo are going the extra mile to ensure this is the best Mardi Gras yet, a press release said.

Local entertainment firm Oneworld Promotions has been the entertainment provider for Mardi Gras for several years providing DJs and stellar sound equipment that make Mardi Gras the concert event of the year. This year, Monster Media has joined ranks to market and co-organize the event and will also pull from their resources in the entertainment world.

True to its international flavour, talent from around the world will add the taste of variety for Mardi Gras 2006. Lady Precise, a vocalist and freestyle performer out of Vancouver, will perform her lyrical gymnastics for the crowd, as will female DJ and radio personality Solange out of Chicago, USA.

The island’s finest DJs will also be on the Mardi Gras play list. Oneworld Promotions will bring DJ Presser and DJ Johnny G, who are Mardi Gras alums.

Also joining them will be the mix master dynamos of Spin 94.9 FM, DJ Alexi and DJ Billy B. Spin 94.9 FM on-air talent Kate, Hard Core and Sese will be on hand with giveaways, such as cell phones from the official telecom provider Cable and Wireless bMobile.

Live performances in the ‘Penthouse’ VIP section by rock band Ratskyn will round out the entertainment.

Ensconced in the plush Penthouse atop the Kaibo bar, ‘players’ will be treated to the finest in live performance, while eating and drinking in true Mardi Gras style. Joining the band in the VIP section will be the Mardi Gras girls, decked out in fashions provided by Cayman Jam Boutique.

‘From female DJs and emcees, to live rock to the island’s most classic mix masters, Mardi Gras is going to be the craziest music event of the year,’ states Searlina Bodden of Monster Media. ‘As Craig Urchyshyn from Oneworld said it best, ‘mardi gras music is classic with an original twist. It’s all good times music.”

The event is sponsored by Cable and Wireless bMobile, Cayman Airways, Heineken Music, The Smirnoff Experience, Coconut Car Rentals, Sunshine Suites Resort, Cayman Jam, Oneworld Promotions Spin 94.9 FM and Cayman Free Press.
