Event Ladies Night, Out and Bad is slated to take place tonight at the Country and Western Parking Lot, a press release said.
The event features popular sound system Swatch International, featuring top selector DJ Maestro, as well as one of Jamaica’s most popular dancehall queens and personalities, Stacey. Local sounds will include Studio One, Audax and DJ Marlon spinning the tunes.
‘Since its debut 15 years ago, Swatch has toured extensively, playing across the US, Canada, England and the Caribbean,’ said a press release from the promoter, Higher Heights Promotions.
Known for its solid core support mostly from its vast female fans as well as its exclusive selections and comic routine by its selectors, promoters using Swatch are assured of good crowd support and lively vibes inside the sessions.
Its weekly session at its Spanish Town Road base, dubbed Passa Passa has proven to be popular not only among area fans, but from the many massives and crews from far and wide.
Swatch International has become a regular fixture at annual fetes in Jamaica and internationally. Its evolution from its early days of two selectors, Nicolas Smith and Hugh ‘Cupid’ Arthurs, has been so dynamic that it’s impossible today to talk top sound systems without mentioning the set owned by Oneil Miles.
Dancehall Queen Stacey, known for her attention-grabbing antics, stage presence and saucy personality, is one of the most popular female dancers in Jamaica..
A staple at dancehall sessions since the 1990s, Stacey shot to prominence in 1999 when she grabbed the Dancehall Queen title.
