CARIFTA track team named

The Selections Committee of the Cayman Islands Athletic Association has named the athletes who will be representing the Cayman Islands at this year’s Carifta Games to be staged in Guadeloupe over next month’s Easter week-end.

This year’s team is made up of a number of ‘veterans’ for this meet, which is the region’s premier track and field competition for high school aged athletes.

The team also comprises a number of newcomers in the Myers sister, Bodden, Lashley, Lyons and Tatum, who hails from Cayman Brac. The team will be accompanied by coaches Kenrick Williams and Tyrone Yen and managed by Vanda Powery. Ms. Elizabeth Bodden will act as Chaperone.

The team is scheduled to depart on the 12th April and return on the 18th April 2006.
