The 2006 MILO CayKids Duathlon drew a big field of 93 participants to Governor’s Harbour Sunday morning.
Organisers were pleased to see plenty of family members present to cheer on the athletes as they tackled the demanding endurance event.
The younger kids (7 to 10 years old) did a 500m run, 3 km bike ride, then another 500m run.
St. Ignatius won the ‘Participation Challenge of the Schools’, with 49 students coming out from their school.
All finishers earned medals and certificates for participating, as well as getting to enjoy doughnuts, fruit and the pizza that arrived just in time for the finish.
The older kids vied for a trophy, as organisers thought that they were ready for more serious competition.
The overall female in the 11-14 age bracket was Anna Roberton, and the overall male in the 11-14 age bracket was Zack Myrie. These older kids did a 1 km run, 6 km bike and another 1 km run.
