Island Heritage turns 10

Cayman’s Island Heritage Insurance Company is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Brian Murphy, Island Heritage CEO since its inception, believes that the company’s steady growth and success over the past decade is a testament to its strength and diversity, states a press release.

‘This is a milestone for us,’ he said. ‘We started out as a small company in Grand Cayman with ambitious plans for expansion throughout the region. Today those plans have paid off; we have agents and brokers in 15 countries, and – even after Ivan – many loyal and happy customers throughout the Caribbean.’

Faced with the challenge of dealing with Hurricane Ivan’s aftermath, Island Heritage immediately rose to the occasion. In Grand Cayman, an international team of adjusters was on the ground helping customers within 36 hours of the all-clear.

‘We focused first on individual home-owners,’ said Mr. Murphy. ‘This allowed them to get back into their homes and get on with their lives. We achieved this quickly and effectively.’

When asked how such success is achieved, Mr Murphy’s answer is simple: Strength.

‘We have excellent spread of risk, substantial re-insurance from some of the biggest names in the business, plus sound financial backing; this all contributes to our strength. And at the end of the day, it’s the strength that delivers.’

Island Heritage will continue with its plans for expansion in the Eastern Caribbean over the next 10 years.

‘We’re confident that we’ll enjoy another very successful decade, in Cayman and throughout the Caribbean.’
