Rawlinson & Hunter recently announced an anonymous donation of US$178,231 from one of its longstanding clients to the Cayman Islands National Recovery Fund.
In presenting the donation Richard Douglas, senior partner of Rawlinson & Hunter, said ‘We are very pleased to be able to facilitate the donation of these funds to the Recovery Fund. Our client has previously visited the Islands, knows of our plight, and wanted to make a significant contribution towards the ongoing rebuilding efforts’.
The CINRF has confirmed that that this contribution will be used to complete the repairs on four houses – one of which requires major renovation.
‘We are extremely grateful for this contribution at a crucial time when we have many people still needing assistance and insufficient funds to meet that continuing need. It is through contributions like the one received from Rawlinson and Hunter’s client that allow us to address the housing needs of Cayman’s community. Without the generous support of the local and international private and public sectors, our work to rebuild and restore the lives of those who lost so much in Hurricane Ivan would not be possible,’ explained Dr. Mark Laskin, executive director of the CI National Recovery Fund.
