Boot camp for women launched

This isn’t your father’s boot camp, but like the real thing, you can expect to arrive just as early.

Starting at 5.30am and 6.30am, the intensive one-hour-per-day camp runs Monday to Friday, for four weeks.

The owner of Body Sculptor Fitness Centre, Ernest Ebanks II, a certified personal trainer and certified Adventure Boot Camp instructor, will be operating the rigorous Adventure Boot Camp programme, states a press release.

Ernest Ebanks recognises that many women don’t know how to get started on a fitness programme, or are unsure of which exercises will achieve their desired results.

However, with the implementation of the Cayman Islands Adventure Boot Camp, not only do women have the advantage of instruction from a certified personal trainer, but they also gain a jump-start to a fitness plan offered in a safe, supportive and fun environment, the release said.

‘Women will choose this boot camp because they want a jump start and fast results. For most women, getting back into shape after just giving birth, or from not exercising for some time, is tough,’ says Mr. Ebanks.

The training exercises in the Boot Camp programme are just the right ticket to making improvements in strength, endurance, motivation and physical appearance.

Mr. Ebanks will tell you that like real boot camp, Adventure Boot Camp instills a discipline that will carry over into other areas of life.

‘This is better because we are coaches, not drill sergeants,’ he said.

The camp includes a variety of exercises, jogging, weight training, obstacle courses, hiking, circuit training and more.

Mr. Ebanks says other benefits are a three to five per cent reduction in body fat, five to 12 pounds weight loss, one to three inch reduction in the midsection and a 100 per cent increase in confidence.

The camp is geared to offer the benefits of having a personal trainer in an environment of camaraderie with other women who share similar goals. Each woman will work at her own level and all levels of fitness are welcome.

Adventure Boot Camp originated in Orange County, California, by Dr. John Spencer Ellis, a well-known fitness expert and author. Now, Adventure Boot Camp has finally made its way to Cayman.

The women-only Adventure Boot Camp starts Monday, 11 September at the Truman Bodden Complex. The next session begins 16 October and the third session starts 20 November. For more information visit www.CaymanBootCamp.com or telephone 525-2668 or 939-5288.
