The Fidelity Fun Run Series showed another upsurge in entrants in its final offering last Saturday in George Town, as the number of participants topped the century mark.
All told, more than 150 persons partook of the opportunity for competitive and recreational activity.
Although the fastest male and female finishers proved to be three-peaters, there was still an air of excitement prevailing during the event.Marius Acker again showed his heels to the rest of the field, but the presence of Dave Walker was an incentive for the winner to pour it on and resulted in a fine performance, in a time for the two mile distance of 10:04 . And Dave Walker was no slouch with a runnerup clocking of 10:29.
Gill Comins led the ladies for an unbeaten string of three in a row, but Deeann Foster gave it her all, forcing Gill to lower her time to 13:22, as Deeann turned in a 13:29 effort for second.
James, John, and Victoria Tweedie all gained age group prizes to make it a family affair, and under 12 age group winner Ciaran Touhey was a hit with the crowd.
Lily Gammage pulled Dad Tom to another victory in the pram division to uphold the honour of the sponsoring institution.
Many of the age group awards came down to the wire with third week achievements determining the final placements in the overall series standings.
