A talented young Caymanian boy has jetted off to Italy with his family for an AC Milan Soccer Camp for which he was especially chosen.
Thirteen-year-old Alex Hennings was chosen for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity having attended a one week AC Milan soccer camp in Florida in August. More than 300 children had attended the one-week camp, with three children being chosen from each age group. Alex was picked for the camp in Italy based on his skill, knowledge of the game and discipline.
Generous sponsorship helped the family make the trip to Italy. British Airways discounted the air tickets to London and Milan. Also helping out with accommodation and flights was sponsor Cable & Wireless.
British Airways District Manager Cayman Islands Patrizia Amante said, ‘This is a tremendous accomplishment and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a young Caymanian boy.’ She added, ‘British Airways wishes Alex and his family a great trip and a wonderful experience.’
The camp in Italy takes place from 29 September to 1 October.
The highlight of the trip for Alex is when he will get to meet the players of AC Milan and attend a professional game.
The young soccer player will also participate in a tournament of all the chosen players from AC Milan camps held around the world this past summer.
The St. Ignatius School student is visiting Italy with his dad Sean, his mother Mindy and little brother, three-year-old Luke.
