Imagination, fun and special giveaways marked the 2006 Chamber of Commerce Business Expo held at the Lions Centre this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Some businesses made their mark with elaborate booths and others with one-time only promotions, making the event worth a visit for all looking to check out what’s on offer in Cayman business.
Hailing the event as a tremendous success, Chamber of Commerce CEO Will Pineau said more than 8,000 visitors passed through the Expo during the three-day event.
‘Businesses and the public were able to benefit for different reasons,’ said Mr. Pineau.
‘The invitation-only opening night in particular was a great networking event for business owners, while the public days showcased a phenomenally wide range of products and services to consumers.
‘In just a few hours, you could buy a new car, purchase items for your home, look into new telecom packages and learn about new businesses on the Island,’ he said.
Mr. Pineau remarked that the event was a great opportunity for smaller businesses, which might have just a few product lines, to showcase their products to large numbers of potential customers and benefit from highly effective word of mouth promotion.
He also praised the enthusiasm exhibitors gave to making their displays interesting and unique, going beyond the call of duty by creating a true shopper’s paradise.
‘The level of quality is that of a business expo anywhere in the US, which shows how far the business sector has advanced here in the Cayman Islands,’ he said.
Mr. Pineau praised the Chamber’s Joanne Berry for her work coordinating the event, and event planners Celebrations, which was able to turn a good event into a classy occasion.
‘This year’s event really raised the bar and shows the Chamber is doing a great job in promoting local business and commerce,’ he said.
