Simon Watson, the Deloitte director responsible for Property Consulting Services across the Caribbean, was recently appointed by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to represent the Americas.
Mr. Watson was appointed at the recent Annual General Meeting of the RICS in Toronto from more than 2,000 chartered surveyors in the Caribbean and North and South America to represent the Americas on a global committee to address membership standards across the world.
A founding board member of RICS Caribbean, the Caribbean Chapter of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he serves as vice-chairman and is also the Caribbean representative to the RICS Americas Board. In addition to Mr. Watson’s role on the RICS Boards, he has also spearheaded the training of Chartered Surveyors in the Caribbean and was the first RICS Assessment of Professional Competence Assessor for the Valuation Faculty to be qualified to assess the competence of prospective chartered surveyors in the Caribbean region.
A chartered surveyor with more than 21 years experience, over half of that gained practicing in the Cayman Islands, he has been employed by Deloitte in their property consulting service line since 2000 and he previously worked for five years in the Cayman Islands Government’s Valuation Office.
