Cocaine was allegedly strapped to the body of a man who is accused of attempting to export it.
Stephen Whittaker, of a Prospect address, appeared in Summary Court on Wednesday morning.
Crown Counsel Kirsty-Ann Gunn told Acting Magistrate Valdis Foldats that Whittaker was arrested by Customs officers at Owen Roberts International Airport on 23 November.
She said 18 ounces of cocaine was strapped to his body and he had checked in for a flight to Miami.
Whittaker, 24, was represented by Attorney Keith Collins. Mr. Collins said he wanted to see all of the papers in the case and talk to his client before making a bail application.
The matter was set for mention again on 13 December.
In addition to attempting to export cocaine, the defendant is also charged with possession and possession with intent to supply.
