Walkers spreads holiday cheer

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, the staff of Walkers SPV Limited decided to forego their traditional Christmas lunch and gift exchange in favour of treating 70 children from seven different public primary schools to a Christmas party at Kings Sports Centre.

On Monday, 11 December, WSPV’s entire Cayman office temporarily relocated to Kings Sports Centre to participate in the festivities.

The children were transported to and from the Christmas party by Tony Power of Union Heavy Equipment & Transport, who generously donated his services for the event.

On arrival at the party, each member of staff was paired with a child to supervise while the youngsters were treated to lunch and a host of activities, including roller skating, arcade games and a variety of group games.

In addition, each staff member brought a gift suitable for the children who aged in range from six to 10 years old. Santa Claus later made a surprise appearance and handed the Christmas gifts out to the excited kids.

Managing Director of WSPV, David Egglishaw, stated, ‘WSPV staff should be commended for organising such a great event. The Walkers Group prides itself on being a good corporate citizen, particularly where the children of our community are concerned.

‘We were more than happy to close the office and lend our support to this initiative – I think that some of the staff had as much fun as the children did.’
