Church’s name changed

What used to be known as the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists is now the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Passed in the Legislative Assembly on 10 November, the name change was assented to by Governor Stuart Jack on 7 December and published in Supplement No. 4 with Gazette No. 26 on 27 December 2006.

The changed clauses in The Churches Incorporation (Amendment) Law 2006 state that this modification is however only an adjustment in name and that all business, activities and obligations of this organisation remain the same.

The amendment read in part: ‘Any proceedings pending immediately before that date to which the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists was a party may be continued as if the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists were a party to those proceedings instead of the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists.
