Police in force in EE, NS

Residents in East End and North Side now have even better police coverage thanks to the launch of 24-hour policing in both areas.

This is the first time in the history of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Services that both police stations have been manned around the clock.

The move has been made possible due to the increase in officers assigned to the areas.

There are six officers in each district and plans are to increase the number.

‘This is great news for the residents of East End and North Side who now have the peace of mind that their local police stations are being manned around the clock,’ said Commissioner of Police, Mr. Stuart Kernohan. ‘This is the first time this has ever been done and as with the introduction of any new procedure, the effectiveness and necessity of the service will be monitored and evaluated over time.’

Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS). All persons calling crime stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.
