More than 1,400 people registered, many of whom actually participated in the walk and over $35,000 was raised.

The funds will be used to provide support for cancer patients and their families with treatment and other expenses associated with their cancer diagnosis.

Many schools also participated in the School Stride including John A Cumber Primary School, which donated over $1,200 in contributions from the children and the PTA.

Organizers at the Society are already planning for Stride Against Cancer 2008 and are promising additions to the already popular walk/run.

The Cayman Islands Cancer Society is an independent non-profit association that provides support for cancer patients and their families as well as cancer prevention programs.
