The year has just begun and the big events of this season are approaching fast. One highlight of the season is the RE/MAX Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic which has been held for the past 10 years. This year’s golf tournament will take place at the Brittania Golf Course on Friday the 27th of April 2007.
The 2006 event attracted 121 golfers who enjoyed a fun tournament and helped to raise funds for The Pines and Cayman Island Hospice Care. The enthusiasm and support of all of the sponsors made the tournament a great success.
The Chamber of Commerce staff and the RE/MAX Associates also put in a lot of effort to make the golf tournament a day to remember. Many RE/MAX Associates sponsored different tees, decorated them and even had entertainment.
This year’s event is going to be even bigger and will have a lot of fun elements to it. Aligned with the Chambers focus on education, economic development and environment the proceeding of this year’s event will go to five different charities in these areas.
James Bovell, Owner/Broker at RE/MAX Cayman Islands said: ‘RE/MAX Cayman Islands continues to support the Chamber in this event for many reasons. It is an opportunity to give back to the community with the charitable donations that are made due to the tournament. This event is also a chance to raise well needed funds for the Chamber and support its community projects. We have always enjoyed being involved over the years and continue to develop the event more and more each year. As it is such a fun and relaxed event the business community seem to enjoy the opportunity for a break with customers and clients in a different environment to the office. We encourage businesses and individuals to joins us in any way possible as we plan to have the best tournament we have ever had. See you there!’
Wil Pineau, CEO at the Chamber of Commerce said: ‘We’d like to thank RE/MAX Cayman Islands for agreeing to serve once again as the title sponsor for the Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic. RE/MAX has supported the tournament since 1999. Last year’s tournament was a tremendous success due to the commitment and dedication of the RE/MAX staff and agents to make the event a fun time for all. It is this level of commitment that prompted the Council to recognise RE/MAX with a Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award in 2006.’
