Pink Ladies seek room

The Pink Ladies Craft Group is urgently looking for a meeting and storage space on the run up to the organisation’s two major fundraisers.

The group of 12, members of the Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps, used to meet each week at the Pines Retirement home before Hurricane Ivan to work on craft items. Since the storm, however, that space is no longer available and the group is struggling to find a room for the rest of the year that’s big enough to store materials and work out of.

It is currently working out of private homes. Ideally any new space would have a few tables and chairs.

The group is currently working flat out preparing craft items, including household items and toys, to sell at the Pink Ladies Tea, Fashion Show and Easter Basket Sale on 31 March and the Annual Bazaar and Tea in November

Tickets for next month’s Pink Ladies’ event at the South Sound Dart Park are now available from the Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop at GTH or from any Pink Lady.

Funds raised by the Pink Ladies through their volunteer activities, which also include the Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop and other events throughout the year, support a number of community projects.

Anyone interested in assisting the Pink Ladies in their volunteer activities should contact Director Jane Bird at 947-1903 for further information.
