Hot FA Cup matches set

Academy will face Sunset and Latinos take on Tigers next month in CIFA FA Cup first round fixtures in match-ups that bring back memories of CIFA Digicel Cayman Cup clashes.

When these teams went up against each other in the CIFA Digicel competition Academy got the better of Sunset 3-1, and in one of the most amazing upset-comebacks in Cayman football history, Tigers scored three goals in 10 minutes to edge favourites Latinos 4-3.

The draw for first round matches in the CIFA FA Cup, which begin 3 March, was held in the conference room of the Cayman Islands Airport Authority recently.

CIFA’s President, Jeffrey Webb, and Head of Competitions Committee, David Frederick, drew pairings for both women and men’s competition.

Also on hand to witness the draw were Walter Hernandez, representing Tigers FC; Robert Thompson, representing FC International; Lee Ramoon representing George Town SC; Mario Watler and Roger Borden representing Scholars International; Greg Ebanks, representing Elite SC; Mark Keys, representing Sunset FC and National Technical Director Marcos Tinoco.

Women’s FA Cup:

Latinos FC vs. Sunset FC

Elite SC, Future SC and Scholars International drew byes.

Men’s FA Cup:

FC International and WD United drew byes.

Academy SC vs. Sunset FC

Scholars International vs. Future SC

Latinos FC vs. Tigers FC
