Apparently Mr. Clifford, Minister of Tourism, is disappointed in the story and editorial you ran recently concerning the decline in air arrivals.
The only problem with the story and editorial is that it should have been run sooner.
Arrival statistics, which are published by Mr. Clifford’s DOT, show a clear defined and horrific decrease in air arrivals since 1998. Probably before then but previous administrations cooked the books so the numbers are really no good. (See Enron)
Please don’t take it so personally Mr. Clifford. You didn’t start the problem.
While it is obvious that you have no intention of fixing the problem since the first act should be an admission that we have a problem.
You claim we have had a significant recovery. I don’t think so. You predict a full recovery in 2007. I remind you that you, in Oct. 2005, predicted a full recovery in 2006. Wrong there too.
Why do you think that if you continue to do the same old things the results will change?
