Ninteen-year-old Patricia Plummer has made Cayman proud.
The teen, representing Cayman in her first pageant overseas, won the title of first runner-up overall in the Miss Antilles International Pageant.

She also won Miss City International and Miss Photogenic in the contest held recently in the Republic of Brazil Auditorium in Guarico State, Venezuela.,
‘Being an ambassador representing my country was very important to me,’ said Ms Plummer, who was named first runner-up in a local Miss Cayman Charm pageant.
‘Follow your dreams and strive for excellence. Never give up and always have confidence,’ she advised other teens.
‘My trip was an enjoyable one even though I do not speak Spanish.
‘While I was there I was involved in radio and television interviews, visited the San Juan monument and museums and made friends with a number of other contestants.’
On pageant night Ms Plummer said she appeared in a strapless red and white polka dot cocktail dress accompanied with red stiletto heels and red and white accessories.
In swimwear, she wore a pink, white and blue two-piece with wrap and silver high heel shoes with pink accessories. A brightly designed costume representing the botanical gardens, blue waters and National Parrot was worn for costume of country.
For eveningwear she wore a white silk ivory fishtail gown with silver high heel shoes and an ivory pearl choker with matching earrings for accessories.
Her question for the night was; ‘what she liked most about Venezuela and how she compared Venezuela to the Cayman Islands.’ Her answer was, ‘Venezuela is a beautiful country with mountains and lots of different attractions including the beautiful San Juan monument and the governor’s palace, to name a few. Cayman is also a very beautiful country. It is flat, small and surround by pristine water with white sand beaches.’
Ms Plummer thanked her sisters Laticia and Theresa Brown, her parents Patrick and Aldine Plummer, Mr. Damian Vassell, Blakeys Beauty and Barber, and the Mango Tree Restaurant for making her dream trip come true.
The overall winner of the contest was Astrid Rodriguez of Panama. Second runner-up was British Virgin Islands Diana Rodriguez, who also won the title Miss Beauty International.
