Tyrell Cuffy and Omar Wright turned in some noteworthy results in competition over the weekend.

At the Clemson Relays , Tyrell ran a 10.66 for 100 meters with zero wind to finish fourth and automatically qualify for the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships at Fresno Pacific University later this spring.

The King College Tornado also clocked 3:13.74 for second place in the 4 x 400 meter relay to finish second overall, as Tyrell contributed a 48.9 split on the third leg.

Out in Houston, Omar Wright of Rice University opened his outdoor season in fine fashion, as he soared 2.13 meters (6″11 3/4″) to finish as top collegian in the men’s high jump at the Texas Southern Relays.

With this achievement, he surpassed the 2.10 meter qualifying standard for the NCAA Division I regional meets, which will be conducted in May.

Ronald Forbes of Florida International University, and Carl and Carlos Morgan of Middle Tennessee State University are all recovering from ailments suffered during the indoor season, and all hope to be back in action soon.
