Cable & Wireless kicked off the first of many scheduled Cricket Fever events at the Mango Tree recently.
As an official sponsor of Cricket World Cup, the largest sporting event to come to the Caribbean, the telecommunications company is using its Cricket Fever events as a way to celebrate cricket while supporting local businesses. In partnership with Red Stripe and DMS Broadcasting the event proved a great success.
The bowling competition drew a big crowd with the winner Terry Nathan bowling at a speed of 68mph. He won his weight in Red Stripe beer.
There were also two 6 & 4 competitions held. Participants were asked questions where the answer was either 6 or 4. This was a knockout competition and the winners walked away with a bag full of official World Cup cricket goodies.
In addition, there was the opportunity to enter into the grand prize draw for an all inclusive package to the World Cup Cricket final that will be held in Barbados on 28th April.
The final World Cup cricket celebration will take place at the Smith Road Oval on Saturday 28th April. This all day event will include a live broadcast of the finals and lots of cricket excitement.
