Pooches in the Watlers Road area were treated to some pampering as the Cayman Islands Humane Society Community Dog Wash Team organised a dog bathing session in Helen Drive on Sunday.
A total of 23 dogs and pups were treated to some first-rate grooming including a full bath, brush, fur trim and nail trim.
With shining coats dogs big and small all looked like kennel club champions after the Society’s volunteers had worked their magic.
Local veterinarian Dr. Neil O’Sullivan and Vet Technician Jenny Boyers were on hand to examine all the animals and to offer owners advice on pet care, and 18 Department of Agriculture dog licenses were given to those who needed them.
Many owners also took advantage of booking their canines for spay and neuter procedure at the Society’s clinic.
‘This is a new venue for the Dog Wash Team, so we are delighted with the response, all in all a very successful day,’ commented Carolyn Parker, CIHS Welfare Director.
The Dog Wash Team travels to a variety of districts in Grand Cayman approximately every six weeks throughout the year.
