Miss Cleo’s Cayman Kitchen – a cookbook crammed full of savoured recipes from East End -is in its second addition due to high demand, said a press release.
Published by Cayman Net Ltd, the cookbook is Cleopatra Conolly’s collection of favourite recipes savoured by residents and visitors to East End for over 32 years.
Miss Cleo takes those who love to cook on a journey – from life as a little girl in East End to her first job in the kitchen at Tortuga Club, where she spent 32 years as the Islands’ first female executive chef.
The culinary delights found in Miss Cleo’s Cayman Kitchen include her signature dishes like prime turtle steak, East End style conch stew and lobster thermidor.
Many of her famous homemade soups and breads, and sweet temptations, including Cleo’s Cayman lime pie, custardy bread pudding and pineapple upside down cake are also included.
‘I’m proud to know I could do something like this, I never thought I could do it,’ Miss Cleo said.
‘It feels good to know that people appreciate my book and I can raise awareness of Cayman culture and history at the same time.’
The book, priced at $15.95, is available at retail outlets across Grand Cayman, including Book Nook, Hobbies and Books and Red Sail retail outlets.
