A cocktail reception and orientation session was held last Wednesday week at Guy Harveys for interested contestants for the Miss Cayman pageant, slated for September.
Some 12 young ladies met up with the Miss Cayman Committee, reigning queen Ambuyah Ebanks, and past contestants, to learn more about the pageant and what it entails.
Jacqui Terry, the new committee chairperson, and a former Miss Cayman, gave a brief speech, outlining the three months of intense training undertaken prior to the pageant, while also highlighting planned events. Ambuyah also took the opportunity to talk about her experiences over the past year as Miss Cayman.
Following the speeches, there was an opportunity for questions in an informal setting.
