Acorn Publishing, the publishers of Good Taste, Cayman’s most comprehensive dining and entertainment guide, have gone into partnership with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism to promote Cayman as a great destination for its culinary options from authentic local food to some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean.
The DoT already uses the Good Taste magazine in its various worldwide tourist offices but this latest announcement makes the Good Taste website (www.caymangoodtaste.com) the official partner website for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, states a press release.
Oneshia Richards, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism manager for e-business and research, said “The Good Taste website is a great website to help showcase to the world the premier dining experiences the Cayman Islands has to offer. The website has been extremely well designed, is comprehensive and is always up to date. We have learnt from experience that trying to keep restaurant information up to date is a time consuming, labour intensive task and so partnering with Good Taste has been the ideal solution.”
Publishing Director Charles Grover from Acorn Publishing said, “I am really excited about this partnership. We have always believed that the Good Taste website would be a really great marketing tool for the Cayman Islands and now the DoT has endorsed this position.”
When asked about the popularity of the website Mr Grover said, “Currently the website’s bar, coffee shop and restaurant pages are looked at over 10,000 times a month. The traffic to the Good Taste website has grown exponentially since the site was launched last year.”
General Manager at Grand Old House Martin Richter said, “This partnership showcases the excellence of fine dining establishments in the Cayman Islands. It’s great to see that the DoT is using this innovative technology to keep the Cayman Islands on a competitive edge.” Mr Richter continued, “Maybe this will set precedence for further cooperation between the private sector and government. I fully congratulate the idea.”
The Wharf restaurant believes that having a single website where both tourists and locals can view and search menus is one of the best features of the Good Taste website. Reno Mancini, The Wharf’s restaurant manager, said “Having all the menus in one place is a great way to show people the wide variety of restaurants we have in Cayman. The Good Taste website is basically Cayman’s one-stop guide to fine dining.”
The Good Taste website lists over 100 bars, coffee shops and restaurants and, in addition to being able to search for your favourite food, you can look at menus with prices, view the interactive maps, check out the latest promotions, add reviews and make online reservations.
