Lighthouse School students attend football camp

FC International’s Annual Football camp opened on Saturday 11th August with a special session for students at the Lighthouse School.

It was the first time that Lighthouse School was participating in the camp, which has been held for the past 13 years. Digicel has sponsored this year’s camp, as it has done for the past two years.

Assisting FC International’s president Kennedy Ebanks with the camp was Coach Elbert McLean, who is normally on duty at Bodden Town Football Club.

The group of enthusiastic Lighthouse students was put through their paces with some fundamental football training including running between obstacles, heading the ball passing and attempts on goal.

Coach Elbert, who was working with these youngsters for the first time said: ‘They had fun and many of them displayed remarkable skill and fitness level. It was great to have them this year and we expect to develop and expand this programme with them next summer.’

All participants at the camp received free Digicel-branded T-shirts, footballs, drinks, lunch and transportation to the camp, as a result of Digicel’s sponsorship.

The summer camps continue at George Town Primary School from 13th to 17th August; Savannah Primary School on 18th August; North Side Playing Field from 20th to 24th August and on Cayman Brac on 24th August.
