FirstCaribbean International Bank has promoted long-standing employee Lynne Whittaker to the role of Regional Associate Director (Cayman) effective 1 August.
Ms Whittaker will be based at the Main Street branch in George Town and will have responsibility for the Retail Sales team in Cayman, St. Maarten and British Virgin Islands.
She has had a long and successful career with the bank starting as a teller with CIBC in 1970. She has seen many changes over this period moving through such areas as Retail, Fixed Deposit and Accounting and the Investments Department.
In 1987, Ms Whittaker opened a new chapter in her career by moving to the Credit Department as a consumer lender and five years later she was promoted to a commercial account manager. She continued to advance within the credit area, taking on the position of manager of Consumer Loans and Mortgages in 1996.
In 1998 Lynne became the manager of Personal and Private Banking, a role that expanded her responsibilities within the organization. That year, she also received CIBC’s most prestigious honour, The Chairman’s Award for her outstanding contributions.
In 2002 Lynne was promoted to senior manager, Retail Banking and assumed responsibility for Cayman’s branch network and again in March 2005 to senior manager, Premier Banking.
Ms Whittaker is an active member of the Cayman community having served as secretary of Chamber of Commerce, chairperson of the annual Miss Cayman Pageant and member of Rotary Sunrise. In 2005, she was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Certificate and Badge of Honour for her many contributions to the community and financial industry.
Lynne’s love of music includes jazz, and Caribbean music and is evident in her annual trips to Carnival celebrations in Trinidad.
