The unexplained death of a 50-year-old West Bay man in the George Town area this week is being investigated by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.
According to police, the man was spotted walking in the middle of Crewe Rd. near Jose’s Esso gas station Tuesday at around 7.15pm. Officers who responded said the man was disoriented and appeared to be drunk.
He was taken to the George Town police station where officers said he collapsed and was subsequently rushed to hospital by ambulance. He was pronounced dead later that night.
An autopsy was conducted Wednesday, but police did not immediately provide an exact cause of death. Investigators did not believe there had been any foul play.
