Let movie patrons decide

‘In addition to granting licences to cinemas, the law that established the authority allows theatres that exhibit blasphemous, seditious or obscene material to be fined $100 for each offence and also allows jail terms of up to six months for those responsible for the public viewing, if they are convicted by a court.’

Isn’t this what we have ratings for? I think it’s ridiculous that they should be allowed to fine them for showing films of that nature.

Should people not be allowed to make up their own mind as to what they want to watch?

I think that the owners of the cinemas should be allowed to choose what they want to screen and if people have a problem with it, then they just shouldn’t go and watch the films.
