Brac PWD supervisor retires

After accumulating over three decades of service with the Public Works Department in Cayman Brac, Field Supervisor (Roads), Myron Ryan recently retired.

A farewell party was held in his honour on 10 January at the Aston Rutty Centre, with some 80 co-workers, family members and friends on hand to share the special moment, said a District Administration press release.

Mr. Ryan’s career with PWD began in 1977 and ended on Friday, 11 January, 2008.

Mr. Ryan was presented with a plaque by District Commissioner Ernie Scott in recognition of ’31 years of outstanding service and dedication to the Cayman Islands Government.’

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Scott called it a bittersweet moment and thanked Mr. Ryan for his many contributions to the department and the community, highlighting the level of service he brought to PWD, especially his expertise in heavy equipment operation.

PWD Works Manager Emmanuel Cruz also conveyed his appreciation for the great work Mr. Ryan undertook during his time at PWD.
