CLICO staff plans

CLICO’s sales force was urged to take the necessary steps to release their full potential recently at the company’s Annual Agents Launch in a half-day strategic planning session to identify and prepare for business opportunities in 2008, as part of a start-of-the-year initiative throughout CLICO’s operations in over 20 countries in the Caribbean.

Ms Jasmine Bain, head of sales and distribution of the company’s Trinidad Office, spoke to the agents about the challenges and opportunities likely to face the insurance and investment markets throughout 2008 as she invited them to prepare to Go Beyond: Build the Brand and stretch their goals, in keeping with the theme for the year, states a press release.

‘Agents must first embrace those things that would make them realize success such as commitment to superior performance in providing the best service to clients; increasing their sales activities; keeping abreast of trends and changes in the industry through education and using every opportunity to promote themselves and the company’s brand while going beyond,’ Ms Bain said.

She said the sales force should take note of and prepare for the external impacts taking place around the world. She noted that factors such as the continuing decline of the US dollar, the economic impact of the housing market crisis in the United States and rising oil prices will continue to have an impact on businesses in the Caribbean throughout this year.

She added that with the continuous training of its managers and agents and with an expanded sales network of agents throughout the region, CLICO was prepared to meet such challenges.

Branch Manager for CLICO [Cayman], Vera Kissoon noted that ‘…although 2007 had been a challenging year for the local operations, the agents had done well enough to surpass the sales quota they had been set at the start of the year. The Cayman branch will continue to grow and to achieve new benchmarks for sales and service as it continues to make a positive impact on the Cayman community’, she said.

CLICO’s Annual Agents’ Launch is an opportunity for the company’s sales force to refresh themselves mentally and prepare for the new sales year with renewed focus and commitment all with the intent of improving client/ agent relationships.
