Artist’s leaving sale

Zoe Blount, one of Cayman’s most popular artists, is to hold a sale of dozens of her pieces at a ‘leaving island’ sale in George Town on 6 March 2008.

The artist, a resident of Grand Cayman since 2003, is returning to the UK and is offering the public a final opportunity to purchase her works.

The show will be held at the Gallery at EQ3, the sophisticated furniture retailer within Noah’s Ark, Pasadora Place, Smith Road.

The opening night will be held at EQ3 from 6pm-8pm on Thursday 6 March.

‘The sale will continue until my departure later in March, but I would encourage people to come to the opening night to avoid disappointment!’ said Ms Blount.

The sale includes many artworks never seen in public previously as well as some of the artist’s trademark abstract expressionist paintings inspired by the landscape of Grand Cayman and the Caribbean Sea.

Ms Blount, also currently one of the exhibitors at the ‘Festival’ show at The Gallery at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, has been working hard preparing this final show for the people of Cayman.

‘I have so many great friends and wonderful memories of the last five years in the Cayman Islands,’ she said.

‘I will be back to visit, but this is likely to be my final exhibition on the island. I may be sad to leave but it will give me enormous pride to think that so many of my creations, which were inspired by Cayman’s natural environment, will remain where they belong – in the Cayman Islands.’
