A group of visiting netballers will impart their knowledge on local kids.
The Cathedral Netball Club will be in Grand Cayman 28 March-8 April. Hailing from Essex, England, the club will be making its third trip to Cayman.
The club will play exhibition matches with local netballers as well as assist teams with coaching and training, holding courses in various aspects of the game including umpiring.
The Cayman Islands Netball Association (CINA) recently released the itinerary of the club’s schedule.
On Sunday 30 March, the squad will host an exhibition game at the North Side primary school at 4pm. The next day, 31 March, the club will be at Cayman Prep working with Savannah primary school from 10am to 2pm.
On Tuesday 1 April the club will travel from George Town to Red Bay and then Triple C from 9:30am until 2pm.
Thereafter the squad will be at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex on 2 April, working with John Gray High School netballers starting at 3pm.
Then on 3 April, the team will travel from Cayman Prep, to George Hicks High School and then Truman Bodden from 11am through to 6pm.
Afterwards on Sunday 6 April, the team will work with North Side primary school at 4pm.
Finally on Monday 7 April, the squad heads to Prospect to host a coaching seminar at 11am before participating in a closing exhibition game and rally at Truman Bodden at 6pm.
According to CINA President Lucille Seymour, the club is one of many sides that have been brought down from the UK over the years. The teams are brought in as part of netball development in Cayman.
She stated that CINA is keen on fostering talent in players between the U11 and U18 age brackets.
