Curb prices

We are such a rich, blossoming island with tourism revenue beyond measure – how is it that we cannot alleviate some of the price pressures for the common expenditures such as gasoline, groceries, clothing etc suffered by the majority of inhabitants of this island?

Where is the payoff for selling off piece by piece every square inch of the island for the tourists when the locals cannot see/feel the rewards/compensation.

Where does all the tourism income/hotel taxes/ etc really go?
