The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is urging all drivers to take extra care on the roads tomorrow (April 19) as hundreds of volunteers give up their time to assist in the ‘Earth Day Roadside Clean-up.’
Over 1700 people are expected to assist throughout the day, collecting littler and debris from the side of the road as part of the ‘Earth Day’ celebrations and activities. This is the largest number of volunteers in the event’s history.
Drivers should be mindful that people will be working along the roadside and take extra care by slowing down and being alert.
Anyone wanting more information on the event should contact the Chamber of Commerce on 949-8090 or visit their website www.caymanchamber.ky.
Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS). All persons calling crime stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.
