A Twin Otter plane with 16 people on board made an emergency landing in Cayman Brac at 1:50 pm today, Airport Authority officials have reported.
Operated by Cayman Airways, the plane was en route from Cayman Brac to Grand Cayman, when the crew reported a fire in one of the plane’s engines and was forced to turn the plane around.
The Cayman Brac Fire Department responded to the emergency.
Fire Officer James Christian said the plane’s passengers were all safely evacuated.
The CIAA will give a later update on the situation.
