Playground talks and paper hats were all topics for Mrs Mariko Jack, wife of His Excellency the Governor Stuart Jack, CVO, when she visited local pre-schools on Friday, 18 April.
Mrs Jack made origami hats, chatted with toddlers, and heard from caregivers during her visits. The tour was one of the Week of the Young Child’s (WOYC) final events.
Three George Town pre-schools were on the agenda – Sunny Smiles, Little Trotters and St George’s Anglican Pre-School.
Mrs Jack was accompanied by Early Childhood Unit Head Kate Marnoch; Senior Early Childhood Development Officer Marjorie Beckles, and Early Childhood Development Officers Deanna Peterson and Richard Miller. Visiting child care specialist Professor Roberta Altman also joined the tour party, together with her husband Neil, another specialist counsellor.
Earlier in the week, Governor and Mrs Jack also hosted a Government House reception for early childhood workers, capping the many activities that celebrated this golden anniversary WOYC event.
However, in the Sister Islands, WOYC action continues for the next several days, coordinated by Early Childhood Development Officer April Tibbetts.
