At the Penn Relays, Cydonie Mothersill played a big part in the World All Stars’ runners up finish to Jamaica in the women’s sprint medley, 3 minutes 37.61 seconds to 3:39.16, with the United States Red team taking third.
Mothersill clocked a 51.2 second split for the 400m segment, fastest of all competitors in that portion of the event.
Her team-mates were Laverne Jones of the United States Virgin Islands, Sherry Fletcher of Grenada, and Marian Burnett of Guyana.
Carl and Carlos Morgan competed for Middle Tennessee State University in the men’s 100m relay and 200m relay events at Penn, but the Blue Raider quartet did not attain the final round. In the shorter event, the foursome finished 20th overall at 41.18 seconds, and 12that the longer distance with a time of 1:25.41.
Omar Wright was runner up at the Rice Twilight Meet with his third 2.10 meter high jump clearance this season.
Michael Letterlough has extended his Cayman Islands national record in the hammer throw for the second week running.
And on this occasion he reached the 60 metre plateau with a toss of 60.66m.
Competing at his home base in Kamloops, British Columbia in the Kamloops Throws Fest, Letterlough set his new personal record on the first day of this unique event, which offers three opportunities to compete in a throws discipline over two days.
He went back on day two with his second-best ever measurement of 59.48m.
