Officers from George Town and the Traffic Management Unit arrested six people for driving under the influence of alcohol on the weekend.
Four of the arrests were made following observations of drivers and two arrests came after car crashes. One of those arrested was over double the legal limit. The age of those arrested ranged from 18 to 55 years.
‘If you drive after drinking alcohol you are taking a huge gamble with your life and the lives of others,’ said George Town Inspector Dane Pinnock.
‘Even one drink is one too many. If you are going to drink, make sure your transport arrangements are in place in advance so you won’t be tempted to get behind the wheel.’
