Charles ‘The Killa’ Whittaker is in California for two good reasons right now.
One is to watch the heavyweight clash between aging warriors James ‘Lights Out’ Toney and Hasim Rachman. The other is to see if he can thrash out a deal with Toney’s promoter Dan Goossen.
Whittaker smashed Troy ‘TNT’ Lowry in four one-sided rounds on the bill promoted by Goossen and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism last month in George Town.
After this fight at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Whittaker, 34, will sit down with his manager Raul Alvarez and discuss a deal with Goossen.
‘I’m looking forward to the meeting with Mr Goossen,’ Whittaker said. ‘He has treated me with nothing but respect and hopefully we can come to a mutually satisfying agreement.’
