Ten Maples and Calder associates were led by facilitator Mr. Terry Carson in the two-day ‘Speak Up to Move Up’ course. This course is designed to help people improve their skills in speaking before a group or on a one to one basis.

It aims to quickly increase the comfort level and confidence of participants in a variety of speaking situations. Participants learned several communication techniques including how to speak to hold the attention of others; how to have a positive impact on people and move them to action; how to structure a topic to appeal to different groups and how to project feelings in making a powerful presentation.

The Professional Development & Training Centre offers over 40 different courses throughout the year at the Chamber offices, to which anyone is able to attend, and also provides services to member businesses who wish to offer specialized courses to their employees. A team of expertly trained facilitators cover all areas of professional improvement and can tailor any course to suit the needs of an individual business.
