Described as a labour of love and a spiritual inspiration, a copy of Christian Lifestyle, a new local magazine, was presented to Leader of Government Business Kurt Tibbetts last week.
Accepting the inaugural issue of this all-denominational publication, Mr Tibbetts congratulated publisher Karen Chin, while wishing her success in this new endeavour.
Mrs Chin explained, ‘Christian Lifestyle aims to offer information, guidance and encouragement to Christians in Cayman, while also serving as a source of inspiration for non-believers.’
Referring to the vision behind the project, she added, ‘We’re hoping to use this magazine to reach people of the Christian faith, regardless of the denomination, and of various lifestyles and ethnicities. We trust that the magazine will be both enlightening and helpful.’
Ten thousand copies of the first issue were printed and its diverse articles range from marriage guidance to healthy living, and from prison to mission work. Profiles of young Christians are also included and there are segments for kids, teens, church information, and word games, states a press release.
This 44-page full-colour publication is offered free of cost at various locations around the Cayman Islands. It will be published every two months.
Mrs Chin thanked the team of freelance writers, photographers and designers who assisted in making the project a reality. Contributors to this all-local magazine include veteran and new writers and photographers: Charlotte Jackson, Hyacinth Rose, Anika Von Gerhart, Chris deLayman, Kurt McKenzie, Karlaine Jasbert, Khristopher Silverpen, Kenisha Morgan and Lennon Christian.
