Books & Books continues its International Visiting Author Series with a reading, book signing and back-to-school celebration hosted by Rob Scotton, bestselling children’s author/illustrator of Splat The Cat on Tuesday, 26 August at 4:30pm.
The event is presented in collaboration with The Cayman Islands Humane Society and is free and open to the general public.
Rob Scotton is the author and illustrator of the wildly bestselling Russell the Sheep, about a sheep who just cannot seem to get to sleep. Scotton’s newest character is Splat, a loveable young feline with a pet mouse named Seymour.
Splat is the hero of Scotton’s brand new picture book story about one of the greatest childhood adventures – the first day of school. There are lessons to be learned, friends to be made and fun to be had in Splat’s newest escapade that Publisher’s Weekly has called, ‘rambunctious, filled with superbly executed details… this book not only gets its job done, it completely transcends its agenda.’
Join Rob and Splat as they celebrate back-to-school with live animal presentations by The Cayman Islands Humane Society, crafts and activities galore and of course, a book signing with the author himself.
Future visiting authors include Grand Alda on Wednesday, 24 September and Candace Bushnell on Saturday, 4 October. Visit www.booksandbooks.com.
